Depends of the audience.

Very clearly understand what the assignment is for.

Your assignment prompts may have detailed expectations.

Most of the assignments will have multiple part.

Ex. Explain how political ideologies shape education.

Assignments are usually multi-parts.

Understand the kind of the assignment.

Answer all the parts of the assignment.

Writing newspaper articles, journal articles; other kinds of audiences and objectives.

Responding to the assignment prompts.

Be precise.

You shall not be penalised for your writing skills and effort shall be taken to understand your ideas.

To not go astray, I read out the paragraph to myself and if it makes sense I go ahead with it.

Pre-Writing; Rough Works

Planning your writing.

5Ws and 1H
Who, what, when, where, why and How.

Stick to 5Ws and 1H, so that you stick to it.

When we write popular articles, identify the main argument, sub-arguments, evidence you'll be providing to support your arguments.

Argumentative / Critique essay.

Getting into the poetic mode.

Some kind of structure, some degree of pre-writing.

First 10-15 minutes of  planning will pay off. Structure your essay.

Understand each part of the question

If an explanation of any theory is asked, you'd have a different kind of structure.

Sharing your experiences. Drawing from one's own experiences/observations.

Structure your response.

Ask if you do not understand the question!!!

Structure : Helps one to take breaks and write in short sittings.

Tip by G Sir: When I need to get up and go , I write the first few sentences and then leave….Its a good ideas to initiate the next section. Just write the first few words.. The next morning you will have terrific ideas. Do give yourself the time.

Plan an essay with one nights sleep.

To think through is an ongoing process.

Pre-Writing is extremely important. Before your write your first word, think about what to write. Once you have a structure in place, writing become manageable.

A paragraph is all about the things you want to say at once.

1. People who are good at English write long sentences. Break long sentences into long sentences. Short sentence adds clarity.
2. Spell Check, Grammarly: Do it towards the end.
3. Name the assignment properly. Name_Title of Assignment_
4. Put your name in the assignment.

Calm down if your're writing neatly.

Ask each instructor about their preferences. Leave generous margins for comments.

Some instructors might want a draft.

Submit a draft in advance.

Rehem karna.

Send draft 5-6 days prior.
